Hey there! Here’s where I get to share about this very full and blessed life. I grew up in El Paso, TX. My first writings were in my diary and cataloguing the lyrics of the songs of my teens. I loved both singing and writing and couldn’t decide which I did best or loved most.
I started my family at barely nineteen, so college wasn’t an option for me after high school. Later, when my husband, Bob, and I walked down the aisle, we had four children with us– his two, (his), and my two, (hers). A few years passed and we added “ours” and “theirs”.
While a full-time mom, I began a Music/Voice major at the University of Texas at El Paso. Keeping up with everything was tough, so I transferred to a distance program with the University of Alabama and eventually earned my BA.
I’m called a “Jane of all Trades”, because my interests are so varied– crafts, painting, clothing, floral arranging, poems, songs. I loved the years that I sang professionally with some of El Paso’s finest jazz & blues musicians.
But all the while I wrote. Poems and short stories piled up in a box, next to gobs of rejections. Several nonfiction articles were published. I wrote grants and copy at a private school. While creating content online and writing my own blog, I became fascinated with family research, which inspired my debut novel, Etch of a Promise. It’s Book One of a coming historical fiction series.
I’ve traveled to Costa Rica, Mexico, and Canada. We live in Central Texas, where we thrive with our two hairy dogs. When I’m not writing, I try to keep up with my children and their growing families, spread across the U.S. God is so good.
